The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong has reacted to allegations that he worked for Governor, Nyesom Wike during the just concluded general elections.
There have been claims by opposition parties especially the All Progressives Congress that the CP worked for the victory of the PDP.
The party had also on different occasions accused the Police boss of not providing adequate security for opposition parties, and also arresting perceived political opponents of the governor on trumped-up charges.
However, the CP in a statement over the weekend denied working for the Governor and the People’s Democratic Party.
According to him, he was neutral in the discharge of his duties and provided adequate security for all parties.
He also said the command will continue to discharge its duties professionally without fear of favour.
