Members of the Rivers State COVID-19 taskforce have pleaded with the state government to please pay them their back-log of salaries.
Some of the officials who made this known to journalists yesterday said they have not been paid for over five months despite carrying out their duties efficiently and effectively.
One of them said they were about embarking on a peaceful protest in the state yesterday but decided to forego it so as not to cause tension and panic in the state.
The officials who called on the state governor to come to their aid, noted that the only reason they are still going about their normal duties is because the committee has not been disbanded.
