A 35-year-old woman identified as Mrs. Ngozi Joy Amadi has been sentenced to three years imprisonment for human trafficking by a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.
The presiding judge, Justice Ohoeba Ayua found Ngozi guilty of a two-count charge of recruiting and promoting foreign travels to a victim from Port Harcourt to Libya for the purpose of prostitution.
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, made this known in a statement yesterday.
The agency also hailed the ruling of the court noting that it will serve as deterrent to others.
