The Nigerian Correctional Service in Rivers State says its centres are now a “red flag zone”.
Controller of Correctional Centres in the State, Felix Lawrence, disclosed this during an event organized in partnership with the Nigeria Army, and other security agencies.
The command said the event which is a show of force is to sensitize the inmates and communities around Port Harcourt that the centres have been declared red flag zones by the command.
It also said officials of the service in the state are, combat ready to prevent any form of attack by hoodlums.
The command also assured that they will work with sister agencies to ensure law and order around the centres.
