Rivers Chief Judge Pardons 180 Inmates in Correctional Centres

Ahead of the 2022/2023 state legal year in Rivers State, the Chief Judge of the state, Justice, Simeon Chibuzor has granted pardon to over one hundred and eighty inmates in various Correctional Centres in the state.

Chief Registrar in charge of litigation, Chief Magistrate Friday Poromon who represented the Chief Judge disclosed this in a statement on Friday. 

According to him, the act is a prelude to the 2022/2023 state legal year ceremony.

He also said another goal-delivering exercise will be embarked upon on the 22nd of this month by the Chief Judge.

The Magistrate while addressing the pardoned inmates said that society contributes more to the congestion of the Correctional centers, adding that the state judiciary will ensure it tackles the challenges leading to the delay in the speedy delivery of justice.
