Rivers Assembly Set To Amend The State Environmental Law

The Rivers State House of Assembly Joint Committee on Environment and Health, is inviting critical stakeholders in the Environment and Health sectors to a public hearing on the Bill for a law to amend the state Environmental and Management law, No. 15 of 2019.

The committee, in a statement said the event will hold on February 9, 2022 by 10:00 AM at the main auditorium of the State House of Assembly Complex, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.

It stated that the Bill is aimed at amending the extant law to provide for penalties to curb the menace of soot in the state.

The statement said copies of the bill are available for collection in Room 012, of the assembly complex between 9:00 – 4:00AM from Monday Feb. 7, 2022.

It added that memoranda could be submitted in the same place, and urged stakeholders to honor the invitation.
