The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has affirmed the election victory of HON. Boma Goodhead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the Asari-toru/Akuku-toru Federal Constituency election. held in February, 2023.
The three-member panel; Hon. Justice Nimpar, Hon. Justice Abubakar Sadiq Umar and Hon. Justice Lateef G, in their unanimous judgment yesterday agreed with the tribunal which on the 9th of September, declared Hon. Boma Goodhead as the validly elected candidate for the February, 2023 poll.
Reacting to the Appeal Court verdict, Boma said, “I give God Almighty the glory for affirming my victory this day, and again I am thanking Him for giving me such a wonderful and dogged Asari-toru/Akuku-toru Federal Constituents, who had demonstrated nothing but total support all through these period.
“The court was in total agreement with all the submissions of our lead counsel, Barr. Sunday Ameh, thereby putting all petitions and litigations at this juncture to rest. No more distractions, it’s time for legislative business”.
