The Abbott Ogbobula led faction of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, has berated the state government for approving the construction of two more flyovers in Port Harcourt.
Spokesperson of the party in the state, Ogbonna Nwuke in a statement yesterday, said building of flyovers cannot grow the Gross Domestic Product of the state, as it has no direct impact on the people.
He advised the government to use the money meant for the flyovers, in the development cottage industries in each local government area of the state.
Ogbobula noted that most communities that grow food do not have access roads to move their farm produce.
“I am not saying flyovers are not good but what I am saying is that the attitude of the government does not indicate that it has a holistic view of its responsibility to Rivers people,” he stated.
