The Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has described the defection of 27 members of the state House of Assembly to the party as a welcome development.
Publicity Secretary of the party, Chibuike Ikenga in a statement Today said the party is happy with the development and expects more persons to join them in the coming days.
According to him, the party is open to more persons willing to join its fold.
Meanwhile, Darlington Nwauju – former Secretary to the dissolved party executives says the defection of the lawmakers is an attempt by the FCT Minister – Nyesom Wike to join the party through the back door.
He said the move has justified its stance that the dissolution of the executives of the party was a move to handover the structure of the APC to the FCT Minister.
