The Emeka Beke-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has disowned the local government chairmanship candidates purportedly produced through recent primaries conducted in the party’s name.
In a statement issued by the faction’s spokesperson, Darlington Nwauju, the group said it does not recognise any of the individuals who emerged from the exercise. Beke stated that the party had no involvement in the selection process and had not presented party flags to any candidates.
He emphasised that the APC does not “dash” flags to candidates, insisting that the process was unauthorised and unrecognised by the faction.
