The Tony Okocha-led All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has denied welcoming 26 defected Rivers lawmakers into it’s fold.
Publicity Secretary of the party, Chibuike Ikenga disclosed this in a statement shortly after a state high Court in Degema ruled that Amaewhule and others were still members of the PDP.
According to him, the thanksgiving held at polo club few weeks ago was to thank God for the formation of a new caretaker Committee and the reconciliation process in the state.
“We did not welcome the 27 Lawmakers to APC…” he said.
Recall that Amaewhule and 25 others had few months ago announced their Defection from the APC to the PDP on the floor of the House due to the political crisis in the state.
Since then, there have been plethora of court cases to declare their seats vacant.
