Nigerian entrepreneur and investor, Atedo Peter side has resigned as Chairman of Stanbic IBTC Bank after 35 years of service.
Peterside made this known in a tweet on his X handle on Monday.
“Today was the Annual General Meeting of Standard Bank Group Limited and I opted not to be re-elected as a Director. The retirement age is actually 70, but I believe 35 years is enough & the succession plans have worked well,” he tweeted.
Mr. Peterside served as the Chief Executive Officer of the bank from inception in 1989 and later as Chairman after the merger that created Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc in 2007.
