An Appeal court in Abuja, has granted a stay of execution on the ex parte order by a High Court in Rivers State that barred the Rivers APC from conducting its state and local government congresses.
Justice Ben Whyte, of the state high court had granted an injunction restraining the party from going ahead with its congresses slated for September 4 2021.
But, Justice Dati Yahaya in the appeal filed by the APC, frowned at the order of the high court against the process of a political party backed by the Constitution.
One of the lawyers to the APC, Jerome Chimene in a statement, said the ruling of the Appeal court simply means that the party can now go ahead with its congresses.
The both parties involved in the matter are yet to react.
