Five passengers travelling in a commercial bus along the Emuoha/Kalabari Road in Rivers State, have been abducted by heavily armed men.
Sources say the incident occurred on Saturday evening, and that the whereabout of the five persons is still unknown. This is as their abductors were yet to contact anyone.
The abductors, ambushed the vehicle at a bad spot on the road; shot sporadically in the air which forced the vehicle to stop, and immediately took the eight persons including the driver into the bush.
Spokesperson of the command, Grace Koko in a statement said officers have been sent into the bush to ensure the release of the kidnapped persons, and arrest the abductors.
Recall that gunmen few days ago allegedly killed a bus driver and abducted eight of his passengers along the same road.
