Rivers State has recorded 5 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 176 with 32 discharged and 12 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday, Thursday.
The Centre also announced 182 new cases of the COVID19 in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of the new cases with111; FCT-16; Akwa Ibom-10; Oyo-8; Kaduna-6; Delta-6; Rivers-5; Ogun-4; Ebonyi-4; Kano-3; Plateau-2; Gombe-2; Kebbi-1; Kwara-2; Bauchi-1; Borno-1;
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 8915 with 2592 discharged and 259 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
