Rivers State has recorded 36 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 157 with 32 discharged and 11 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday, Tuesday.
The Centre also announced 276 new cases of the COVID-19, in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of the new cases with 161; Rivers-36; Edo-27; Kaduna-19; Nasarawa-10; Oyo-6; Kano-4; Delta-3; Ebonyi-3; Gombe-2; Ogun-1; Ondo-1; Borno-1; Abia-1; and Bauchi-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 8344 with 2385 discharged and 249 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
