Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has denied promising to support the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Sen. Magnus Abe for the March 11 guber poll.
Wike, during the campaign rally of the People’s Democratic Party in Tai local government area on Thursday, said he never made such a promise and can only support one candidate which is SIM Fubara.
The governor stated that SIM will succeed him and that he will never support any other candidate. He urged Rivers people to disregard the claim as such persons are not ready for elections.
“Somebody said I was going to support him to be governor. Can there be two governors? Is it not one governor? Look at the governor(SIM) I am supporting. If anybody come to tell you any story, tell them to go away that they are not ready,” he said.
“This is the man(SIM) that is going to succeed me. So I am not going to support any other person other than him,” he added.
