Kayode Egbetokun, the new AIG, posted to Rivers state to supervise the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections, says the command has learnt from the mistakes of the presidential election.
Egbetokun, during a press briefing yesterday in Port Harcourt, said the command is committed to ensuring the smooth conduct of the elections.
He also announced restriction of vehicular movement from 6:00am to 6:00pm on election day, urging residents to obey the directive.
The AIG warned all those plotting to scuttle the process to desist from the act, as the command will deal decisively with anyone caught.
He revealed that officers have been stationed across the state to ensure security of lives and properties before, during and after the elections.
He urged political leaders to play by the rules and avoid acts capable of disrupting saturday’s polls.
