A former member of the All Progressives Congress and Africa’s Representative in the World Council of Youths, Amb. Marvin Yobana, has declared support for Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, SIM Fubara.
Yobana, who is the Patron/BOT Chairman of the Ogonis Sim Vanguard during a press conference in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, described Fubara as a candidate for all Rivers people.
He said Fubara stands out from all other candidates because of his youthfulness, understanding of the government structure, capacity, and competency.
Marvin, also said he chose Fubara because he is a party man who supports a party that can win elections and not a regional person. He noted that winning elections requires all 23 local government areas, and not just the four Ogoni local government areas.
He explained that acceptability is critical in such situation, and only the Peoples Democratic Party has such capacity to deliver.
“Many of the people you see claiming to be one party candidates or the other cannot be trusted because they have been financially supported by him in the belief that when they get into such a position, the interests of the Ogoni people will be at the forefront, but they have failed the Ogonis with all of the positions they have held,” he said.
Marvin confirmed that all known bodies representing the Ogoni people are pleased with Sim Fubara’s candidacy, and will support him, as opposed to sectional contestants who are unsure of their candidacy and are still running in and out of court, complicating INEC’s work.
He commended Governor, Nyesom Wike for his developmental strides across the state, and for reducing crime in Ogoni land.
