A group known as Rivers Peace Initiative is set to hold a “Peace and Security Summit” a stakeholders and citizens discussion towards a safe and credible election next year.
The meeting is slated for Friday, September 23rd 2022 at Onyx Hall Atrium Events Centre, Stadium Road Port Harcourt by 9:00am prompt.
Dignitaries such as Governorship candidates of the Social Democratic Party, Sen. Magnus Abe, Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress and Dawari George of Action Alliance have all indicated interest to attend.
Meanwhile, social commentator and human rights activist, Solomon Lenu has called on the Governorship candidate of the PDP, SIM Fubara to emulate other candidates and attend the summit.
He commended organizers of the event describing it as a welcome development.
“This is commendable, and let other aspirants also come and tell Rivers people how they plan on making sure the coming election is not turn into war. Especially the candidate of the incumbent government,” he said.
