Former Special Adviser to Governor Nyesom Wike on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah says the riverine should be allowed to produce the next governor of Rivers state.
The Human Rights Advocate, in a statement on Monday, said it is the desire of Rivers people to see that power rotates, as it will give a sense of belonging to every part of the state.
He said since 1999 the upland has produced the governor of the state, and that it will be fair and just to allow the riverine produce the next governor.
He stated that if an upland governor emerges in 2023, it could lead to chaos.
Opunabo also said the search for the next governor has already started and that the state needs a compassionate person who is sensitive to the plights of the people, not one suffering from narcissistic personality disorder.
He called on the uplanders to support the riverine to occupy Brick House in 2023.
