The Rivers State Civil Society Organization (RIVCSO), has vowed to stage another protest against the state government if they continue to ignore two different court rulings, that ordered them to pay teachers of demonstration schools owed for five years.
Chairman of RIVCSO, Enefaa Georgewill made this known in a joint statement with Kpaniku Justice on behalf of old students of the schools.
He said while teaching staff have been owed for five years, Non-teaching staff of these same schools are still being paid salaries by the government till date.
“To still act in the manner they have done after the teachers obtained two court judgements ruled in their favour, should not be seen as ignorance but a deliberate attempt to ignore or twist the facts and set aside the judgements of two courts of competent jurisdiction as the National Industrial and Appeal courts,” he said.
