Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, RIVCSO, Enefaa Georgewill has advised residents of the state never to allow anyone help them at ATM spots.
Enefaa in a video on Facebook Today said he almost lost a fortune to an ATM thief on Tuesday, unknown to him.
According to him, he was experiencing some difficulties while trying to perform a transcation at the Access Bank ATM in Mile 1 when the fraudster offered to help.
After he gave the man his card, the fraudster changed it and slotted the wrong one in the machine; asked him to keep trying and immediately left the scene.
Enefaa, said he suspected something was wrong and decided to check the card only to discover that it was another person’s own.
He immediately approached the security officials on duty, who blocked the card to prevent the fraudster from withdrawing his money.
He revealed that the wrong card given to him belonged to a lady who was scammed with huge amount withdrawn from her account.
