More reactions have trailed the demolition of two hotels in Eleme Local Government Area by Governor Nyesom Wike. Recently, former spokesperson to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan and author of facts v. fiction, Reno Omokri described the governor’s action as High-handed.
Omokri during a virtual interview session with Nigeria Info, disclosed other punitive measures the governor would have explored in enforcing compliance to the widely acclaimed executive order 6.
“…he could have siezed the hotels, fined the owners of the hotels, gotten the police to arrest him and put him in detention if the laws permit that….”
You would recall that the manager of one of the demolished hotels, has been convicted by a court sitting in Port Harcourt and sent to the state isolation centre. This comes amid criticisms from some persons that the governor in enforcing the executive order 6, arrogated to himself both executive and judicial powers.
