The remains of a young man who drowned in a swamp at the Rumuigbo axis of Port Harcourt, has been recovered and deposited at the mortuary of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, a relative of the deceased Joseph Etim accused the Police of killing the young man.
Etim, who said he wants justice served on the matter, disclosed that the Police Officers were from the Ozuoba Police Division.
We gathered that the deceased was a labourer working at a construction site in Rumuigbo.
Eyewitnesses say residents of the area had invited police officers to stop the labourers from working, after series of complaints to the owner of the house to remove his sand blocking a drainage in the area.
They said the boy ran into the swamp when he sighted the police officers who threatened to shoot him before he drowned.
