Reactions have trailed the visit of popular Nigerian actress Hilda Dokubo to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, at his residence.
A photograph of the actress with the minister has circulated on social media, prompting speculation among Nigerians that Dokubo may be aligning with the Rainbow Coalition.
Dokubo had previously been a vocal critic of Wike, particularly during the political crisis in Rivers State.
Reacting to the development, some social media users expressed surprise over the meeting, while others described it as another example of the changing alliances often associated with Nigerian politics.
Chukwu Prince questioned the actress’s visit, writing, “So is this not actress Hilda Dokubo that will always say trash about Wike, y’all have zero dignity, so it’s all because of hunger. Such a shame.”
Similarly, Olayinka Samuel suggested that the actress had joined Wike’s political camp, stating, “Today, Hilda Dokubo don join Wike for Rainbow Coalition. Wike na Wike o!”
He added, “Nigerian politics get plenty twists. The people wey you think say dem no go ever agree fit become allies tomorrow. Politics deep o!”
Another user, Godspower Irogbum, shared the photograph of Dokubo with Wike and asked, “You remember Hilda right?” He added that he had learnt many things about politics.
John Diidi also criticised the actress, alleging that her visit contradicted her previous stance against the minister.
“Hilda Dokubo lacks shame. She’s the most shameless person in Rivers State,” he wrote, referring to an earlier incident in which he claimed she had bought a coffin and organised a burial for Wike.
Meanwhile, TG In Haze questioned the actress’s previous criticisms of the Tinubu administration, linking them to her visit to the minister.
Other users offered broader observations about political alliances. Elizabeth Emmanuel described politics as “a dirty game,” adding that there are “no permanent enemy no permanent friend in politics.”
Chimzuruoke Newman also suggested that Dokubo had reconciled with Wike, writing, “Hilda Dokubo has surrendered to Wike finally.”
However, it remains unclear whether the visit signals any formal political alignment between the actress and the minister, as no official announcement confirming her membership of the Rainbow Coalition was provided.
