The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has unveiled Pastor Dr. Ibigbeye Deborah Membere as the party’s deputy governorship candidate in Rivers State.
The announcement was made on Monday, at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt, where party leaders, members, and supporters gathered for the official presentation.
PRP governorship candidate, Nature Dumale Kieghe, who is from Rivers South-East Senatorial District, selected Pastor Membere from Rivers West Senatorial District as his running mate. The party said the choice reflects its commitment to ensuring broad representation across Rivers State’s senatorial districts.
The unveiling formally completes the PRP’s governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 election, positioning the party among the contenders in what is expected to be a highly competitive race.
Speaking shortly after her unveiling, Pastor Membere expressed optimism about the party’s chances and the future of the state.
“This is a season of hope and liberation for Rivers people,” she said.
Party supporters at the event described the ticket as a blend of political and grassroots leadership, while PRP leaders expressed confidence that the Kieghe-Membere ticket would offer Rivers voters an alternative platform in the next governorship election.
