The Court of Appeal Port Harcourt Division today struck out four Appeals and dismissed one Appeal all brought by members of the Rotimi Amaechi-led faction of the All Progressives Congress APC in Rivers state. The Appeals all failed in our favour as the Court of Appeal remitted them back to the High Court for continued hearing.
The respective Appeals as listed hereunder all have to do with their purportedly planned registration/revalidation exercise which the High Court restrained:
CA/PH/23/2021 ~ APC vs. Emma Deeyah.
CA/PH/24/2021,
CA/PH/32/2021 ~ APC vs. Normagin,
CA/PH/38/2021 ~ APC vs. Ogbona,
CA/PH/44/2021 ~ APC vs. Egburuka,
None of the decisions of the High Court of was touched by the Court of Appeal particularly that of Abina J. Which directed parties that nothing should be done in respect of the registration/revalidation exercise by the APC Rivers state pending the determination of the suit.
The socalled registration and revalidation exercise of APC Rivers state is further frustrated and cannot take place. We wish to state that we are on standby waiting for the Rotimi Amaechi faction of the APC either at the Supreme Court or the High Court if they chose to return to Court on these issues.
Signed:
Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Deeyah Statutory Executive Member,All Progressives Congress APC,Rivers state, March 1, 2021
