The attention of the Media Team of Rivers State PDP Presidential Campaign Council has been drawn to an uncanny move by the Governor of Rivers State, HE Wike, to further denigrate and impugn the person of the Chairman of the PDP PCC, Sen. Lee Maeba , at an outing in Bori.
The embattled Governor made this information available himself through one of his lackeys, Sen. Olaka Nwogu. The Eleme politician was asked by the governor to relay the information to our dear Chairman. In the message relayed to Sen. Maeba, the governor promised to insult him in Bori, and even went as far as asking his emissary, Nwogu, to ask Maeba to prepare as many lawyers as possible for the dance of shame.
We write to inform the public of the height of infamy Gov. Wike has condescended to. This is the most despicable cum immoral act imaginable from a sitting governor. This intended move clears any doubt whatsoever that the invasion of Sen. Maeba’s residence was actually the Voice of Jacob but the Hand of Esau
We urge the civil society in consonance with the Nigerian Police, DSS, and other relevant law enforcement agencies to call Gov. Wike to order before he drives his angst from the loss at the last PDP Presidential Primaries to a level that that will boomerang on the peace we have enjoyed in Rivers State. We wish to inform the public and law enforcement agencies that if Gov.
Wike deserves the right to assault Sen. Maeba, then the Senator deserves the right to reply as he deems fit. And we all know how negatively saturated the atmosphere of Rivers State will be as a result of such brick-bat.
Please we did not cede our mandate to Gov. Wike so he can assault and act indecorously on end. Our dear governor has thrown caution to the wind since after losing at the polls, and we think that the stakeholders of our dear state should suspend their graveyard silence by calling him to order. Gov. Wike was not voted governor to oppress and suppress Rivers people with dissenting political opinion; he was voted to manage our resources and welfare – duties he has clearly abdicated since after the national primary.
Our governor should man up and bear his loss with the desired airs and graces that make one a politician. Sen. Maeba, the Chairman of PCC, Rivers State, has given his all to Gov. Wike. Even when the governor reneged on his promise, the PCC chairman continued to give his fillip to the PDP in the state. We find it hard to fathom why working for the national party has become the reason why Sen. Maeba has become the object of slander, incendiary remarks, and brigandage. Gov. Wike should check his excesses lest he should become a very bad example for aspiring politicians in the state and country.
