President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Nigeria Police Bill, 2020, which provides for a more effective and well organized Police force into law.
The act also seeks to create long lasting and effective partnership between the Police and communities in maintaining law and order amongst others.
The President communicated his assent to the bill in a memo dated September 16, 2020 to the National Assembly, through the Clerk of the legislature.
