President Muhammadu Buhari, is expected to address the nation in a broadcast on Monday May 18 2020. This is following the end of the first phase of the gradual easing of the COVID-19 lockdown few weeks ago.
National coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani made this known on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme yesterday.
Saliyu who briefed the people on the activities of the task force so far, noted that the president is to decide on whether or not the country should go ahead with the second phase of the easing of the expected lockdown. The lockdown in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun states, were eased few weeks ago. While some stakeholders hailed the easing of the lockdown by the FG, others criticized the move
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has impounded an aircraft which belongs to Flairjet, a UK based operator for disobeying the restriction order by operating a commercial flight into the country as opposed to the humanitarian operations it was approved for. Aviation Minister, Captain Hadi Sirika, confirmed the development to Journalists.
