Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has issued an apology to citizens following weeks of persistent and severe electricity disruptions across the country.
Speaking during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, Adelabu acknowledged the significant hardship caused by the outages, noting that the situation has negatively impacted households and critical sectors of the economy, especially amid the intense dry-season heat.
He expressed regret over the inconvenience, describing the blackout as a temporary challenge that has worsened living conditions nationwide.
According to the minister, businesses, schools, and industries have all been affected by the power crisis.
Adelabu, however, explained that the situation arose from factors beyond the government’s immediate control, stressing that it was not a deliberate occurrence.
