The national chairperson of the Labour Party (LP), Nenadi Usman, has announced that the party has officially zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the southern region of the country.

Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja, Usman stated that the decision had already been finalised within the party’s leadership.
She emphasized that the LP would not consider any aspirant from northern Nigeria for the presidential race.

“We have taken a firm decision that we will not field any candidate from the North. The ticket has been zoned to the South,” she said.

Usman added that any northerner seeking to contest under the party’s platform for the presidency would not be accepted.
