Chairman south south zone of the karate federation of Nigeria, Dr Chukwudi Dimkpa says Port Harcourt is set to host the all Nigeria senior open Karate championship tagged “Karate Championship 2022”.
He disclosed this while speaking to newsmen shortly after attending the 2022 first meeting of the board of the federation in Abuja.
Dimkpa who is a board member of the Karate Federation of Nigeria and Chief Executive Officer of StrataBase Group, main sponsor of the tournament, assures Karatekas coming to Port Harcourt of the reason to give in their best.
“You are going to be looking out to showcase yourself and your talent, you’re going to be up against the best in the country. So hopefully you would have framed up your skills and come showcase to us that you qualify as a karateker”.
In addition to Strata Base Group, corporate entities such as Vandrezzer Energy Services Ltd, Solotone Global Services Ltd and Allied Victory Ltd have all secured bookings for sponsorship participation in the championship.
The championship which begins 17th -20th February, 2022, is still open for more sponsorship participation, and is expected to have in attendance about 300 karatekers and organisers converge in Port Harcourt for the four-day event.
