The Rivers State Police Command says it will not join the planned industrial action by some Police officers across the country, today.
The state commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday disclosed this in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
According to him, officers threatening strike action are not aware of the good works of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba in the force.
He stated that they are behind the IGP, as he is working to transform the force.
Some junior Police officers were said to have concluded plans to embark on an industrial action from Saturday, March 26, 2022 to demand improved welfare package from the Federal Government.
Meanwhile, the IGP, yesterday in Kano, cautioned the officers against going ahead with the action, noting that it was “tantamount to mutiny.”
