The Rivers State Police Command, says it is investigating allegation of extortion levelled against one of its officers, by a final year student of the University of Port Harcourt.
Spokesperson of the Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
The student in a chat with Journalists yesterday, said an officer with the Eagle Crack unit of the state Police Command, extorted him of one hundred and fifty thousand naira, after accusing him of being a fraudster.
The student stated that the officer, who forgot his phone in his car, also threatened to shoot him if he fails to take him to an ATM point to withdraw the money.
He noted that the police officer escorted him to Stanbic IBTC Bank at Ikokwu, where he transferred the money to an FCMB account, with account number 1630887024, and Ordu Fortune, as the account name.
