Amid complaints by motorists over the checking of vehicle particulars by the Police, the Federal Road Safety Corps in Rivers State says the Police has the right to check car papers.

FRSC Commandant in the state, Sanusi Galadunci who disclosed this in a statement in Port Harcourt, on Monday said they share the responsibility with the Police.

According to him, the Police Act empowers the Police to carryout a lot of responsibilities which includes checking of car particulars.

He explained that if a car goes missing, it is the Police that searches for the vehicle by checking particulars to ensure the car is recovered.

He urged motorists to cooperate whenever the Police wants to check their particulars as they have the right to do so.
