The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the electrocution of nine persons who were mounting a billboard in Port Harcourt on Monday.
The victims were said to be private businessmen contracted to mount the billboard for a new generation church.
Whie five of them died on the spot, four others sustained life threatening injuries and are currently at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital
Reacting, spokesperson for the state Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko described the incident as unfortunate, adding that investigation is ongoing to ascertain what happened.
“Yes, we are aware. It is very unfortunate. Investigation is ongoing to ascertain what really happened,” she said.
