Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon. Allwell Ihunda has warned manhole cover thieves to leave the city or face the full weight of the law when caught.
The Mayor said this when he went round to monitor the replacement of manhole covers on major roads across the LGA.
According to him, the task of replacing stolen manhole covers is indeed herculean and cost intensive.
He called on well-meaning individuals, vigilantee groups, and community leaders to support the government in the fight against the stealing of manhole covers in the city.
He reiterated the commitment of his administration to put an end to vandalism and theft of manhole covers across the LGA.
