Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi has debunked rumors making the rounds that the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri Rail contract has been called off.
There have been reports of cancellation of the rail project expected to link the Northern and Southern parts of the country.
Amaechi, in a statement on Thursday, called on the public to ignore purveyors of such propaganda, as the project is on course.
He noted that the Buhari-led administation is committed to bettering the lives of Nigerians by delivering legacy projects across the country.
“The Port Harcourt-Maiduguri Rail Contract was never canceled. It is important that the purveyors of propaganda be ignored, as certainly, the project is here and on course,” he said.
“For those of you who are bent on carrying fake news up and down, hope you’re satisfied now,” he added.
