Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has unveiled an online registration portal and identity cards for members of the Obidient Movement both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, News360 Nigeria reports.
The development was announced in a joint statement issued in Abuja by the National Coordinator of the movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, and the Director of Strategic Communications and Media, Nana Kazaure.
According to the statement, the new ID cards feature a QR code for authentication and display the flag of the holder’s country of residence. “If you’re not resident in Nigeria, the top right-hand corner will carry the flag of your country of residence,” the statement explained.
The Obidient Movement said the initiative aims to strengthen unity and authenticity among its members worldwide. All ID cards, whether for residents in Nigeria or abroad, bear the prefix “OBX.”
The QR code embedded in the card enables verification via smartphone or QR scanners, providing a secure means for Obidients to confirm each other’s identities, particularly when engaging in support or business transactions.
