Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has said the local government election primaries of the PDP will be conducted this year, while elections will be conducted early next year.
The governor disclosed this when the leadership of the newly elected party executives paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Port Harcourt.
Wike who warned members of the party not to attend any meeting convened by those who want to contest the governorship election come 2023, said it is too early for such.
He charged the newly elected excos to work cooperatively with the Chairman of the Party, Amb. Desmond Akawor to move the party forward.
