Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has accused the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party of squandering the sum of N12.5 billion party funds in just two months.
The governor made the allegation during the inauguration of internal roads in Rumuigbo, Obio-Akpor local government area of the state on Wednesday.
Wike, who said he is solidly behind the new leadership of the party, stated that he owes no apology to anyone.
According to him, he believes the party should have strong leadership, adding that he cannot support people whose interest is only to amass money.
“I believe we should have strong leadership. I can’t support people whose interest is only to amass money,” he said.
“I owe no apology to anybody. I said it before, this is the final fight we will fight and we are going to win this fight,” he added.
