The Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Gerald Oforji has denied reports of panic, unrest and violence in the area yesterday.
The council boss in a telephone interview with journalists this morning said the LGA is peaceful as armed military officers have taken over the area.
He said most of the reports of violence in the LGA, been displayed on social media platforms were not carried out in Oyigbo.
He furthermore warned youths trying to cause violence in the area to desist from the act as the council will not hesitate to deal with anyone found wanting, inline with the laws of the land.
