Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Oyebamiji, however, raised concerns over alleged attacks, harassment and intimidation of APC members and supporters, as well as reported targeting of small and medium-sized businesses based on the political affiliations of their owners.
In a statement dated Saturday, August 29, addressed to APC members and supporters, Oyebamiji called for an immediate end to such acts across the state.
He said the party had commenced consultations with elders, leaders and other critical stakeholders to determine its next course of action following the election results.
Oyebamiji reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to seeking justice and fairness through lawful and constitutional means, particularly regarding the electoral process, while urging party members not to lose faith in democracy.
He also appealed to Adeleke, as the state’s Chief Security Officer, to take necessary steps to protect the lives and property of all residents, especially during the sensitive post-election period.
He congratulated the governor as Osun State marks its 35th anniversary, while urging all stakeholders to uphold peace and democratic values.
