The family of an undergraduate female student of the Rivers State College of Health Science and Management Technology, who was allegedly raped by the Head of Department, Dental Surgery Technology, Princewill Chikakopbi says their daughter has been suicidal since the incident.
Mother of the raped victim, Mrs. Gbara who disclosed this in a chat with Journalists on Wednesday, alleged that the lecturer sexually harassed her daughter, after luring her into his office to help him carry a generator set.
Mrs Gbara said she wants justice for her daughter, as she called on the Police and the school authorities not to compromise in their investigation.
Meanwhile, Human Rights Groups, in the state, have urged the HOD, Mr Princewill to submit himself to the Police for investigation.
The groups called on the Police to ensure proper investigation of the matter without bias and sentiment, as they promised to ensure that the matter is not swept under the carpet.
