Omega Power Ministries (OPM) has announced the shutting down of its free specialist hospital in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area, with effect from today. This it said is owing to the hostile attitude of the host community.
General Overseer of the church, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere made this known in a chat with journalists yesterday in Port Harcourt. He accused the host community of aggressive behaviour towards the managers of the hospital despite the free services it renders to the less privileged in the area.
The clergy man confirmed that the church is in search of a suitable location for the hospital so as to continue rendering free medical services to the people, as nothing can deter them from helping the vulnerable.
OPM is a faith based organization, headquartered in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. The church is reputed for helping the downtrodden in the state, by offering free medical services; education and accommodation.
