MEMORISE: “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” – (Matthew 11:29)
READ: Acts 2:41-47 (KJV)
41. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized; and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43. And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44. And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45. And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47. Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Open Heaven 17 June

Knowing God is not the same as going to church or even being born again. The knowledge of God is first made evident through love. If you love God, it will show in the way you live and even interact with others. God is calling us into an intimate relationship with Him which is preceded by growing in the knowledge of Him. If your life is in disagreement with God’s word, no matter how much you participate in Church activities or give offerings to God, you would not be acceptable to Him, and your services would be in vain.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus… made himself of no reputation,… took upon him the form of a servant,… humbled himself, and became obedient unto death…” – Philippians 2:5-8
(1 John 2:6) also say’s “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” Jesus Himself enjoins us to follow His example in all things.
An intimate relationship with Jesus would lead to selflessness, humility, service to humanity, and total obedience to God. When you live according to the standard of God, He will be pleased with all you have to offer. Do you know that you can come before God with generous offerings, yet stir up His anger? This is because the offering of an unrepentant sinner is an abomination before God (Proverbs 15:8).
An intimate relationship with God would help you fashion your life very closely after the example of our Lord Jesus in all things. The knowledge of God must bring us to the point of wisdom and enlightenment far beyond the ordinary. Above all, the knowledge of Jesus must lead to overflowing joy and peace. I pray that your knowledge of Jesus will grow greatly this season in the mighty name of Jesus.
PRAYER POINT: Father, please help me to grow in intimacy with You, in the mighty name of Jesus.
