The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike has called on the Police to launch an investigation into the circumstances leading to the ghastly accident along the Omerelu/Owerri Road which led to the death of three persons.
According to eyewitnesses, some police officers shot at a truck conveying petroleum products which exploded destroying lives and properties.
They said the Police officers were trying to stop the truck.
Nwanosike, while reacting to the incident, condemned the actions of the officers and promised to ensure Justice is served.
He alleged that the police officers were only interested in what they could get from the truck driver, which was why they tried to stop him at all cost.
