Spokesperson of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, Dr. Bethel Oko-Jaja has berated Chief, Tony Okocha over claims that Sen. Magnus Abe did not campaign for President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Okocha, had during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, claimed that Abe left the APC because he thought Tinubu would lose the election, and never supported him.
However, Jaja in a statement over the weekend described Okocha’s statement as surprising.
According to him, the Coordinators of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-Vanguard in the 23 LGAs of the state are all members of the SDP, adding that the inauguration of all chapters were bankrolled by Abe.
He challenged Okocha to show evidence where he campaigned for Tinubu without the funding and support of Sen. Magnus Abe.
Jaja, also said Okocha cannot claim to be a member of the APC as the constitution of the party states that “a person shall seize to be a member of the party, if he accepts political appointment from the party in power without the approval of the National Working Committee of the APC.”
Recall, that Okocha was appointed as a member of the state transition committee by Governor, Nyesom Wike.
